SUB 16: Estrecho v Marbella
Date: 26 January 2019
The team of Adrian Parsons and Tim Brazier played against their local rivals Marbella on saturday. It was a great day for rugby with both sides looking forward to a strong match. Marbella play in the league above Estrecho and are currently in third place 1 point behind Granada. CR Estrecho are top of their league.
CR Estrecho having lost a friendly match to Marbella earlier on in the season had something to prove. Over the last 4 months the boys from Estrecho have put in a lot of hard work in training and are now seeing the rewards for it.
They now have an outstanding defence and can score tries from anywhere on the pitch. Now back to full strength after a few few injuries CR Estrecho showed their class right from the start, never letting the home side settle, their strong pressure defence proved the big difference in the match and first half tries from Ale Gonzalez, Felix Petersen and 3 from the strong outstanding centre Isaac Ruiz saw CR Estrecho take a 29-0 lead.
The second half was no different and Marbella had no answer to the hard fast tackling from the CR Estrecho boys and further tries from Mateo Isola, Ale Gonzalez and Felix Petersen saw CR Estrecho win a famous victory over their rivals by 48 points to zero
To stop a strong Marbella team from scoring any points is an achievement in itself as Marbella have already beaten CAR, Portu, Malaga and Mairena this season and are improving with every match.
